Questions & Answers
Q: How can I get more out of the Mass?
A: Imagine that a close friend invites you to Sunday dinner. You'd probably look forward to it all week, wear nice clothes, and maybe even bring a gift. Think of attending Mass as having dinner with your Dearest Friend. Jesus invites each of us to his home. He prepares a special meal and looks forward to the time we spend together. Look forward to it. Put yourself in the right frame of mind. For example, fast before Mass, read a chapter from the Bible, pray the Rosary. Prompt is polite. Maybe you can even arrive early and review the day's readings.
Sit close to the Table. That way you won't miss a thing. Be a good guest. Pray out loud with the assembly, sing from your heart. Offer your personal intentions during the intercession.
Enjoy the meal. Do whatever is necessary so you can receive the Eucharist.
Give your Host a gift. Take away at least one idea from Mass to follow-up on during the week.
