Deanery Changes
Changes, Changes
For the past several years the Strategic Planning Commission for the Archdiocese has been studying the alignment of parishes, assignment of priests and the distribution of the work load and ministries.
As a result of this work, our parish will be part of a different Deanery. We have joined the city (Elkhorn got annexed by Omaha), but that civil governmental move did not go as far as this one. We are now part of the new Suburban North Deanery. The parishes that are included in this are: Fremont-St. Patrick, Elkhorn (now West Maple Rd.)-St. Patrick, Valley-St. John, Ft. Calhoun-St. John, Blair-St. Francis, and three Omaha parishes: St. James, St. Elizabeth Ann and St. Vincent de Paul. This is not a big issue for most parishioners but it does reflect changing
demographics.
