New Grave Marker Medallions:

New Grave Marker Medallions: Forty five grave marker medallions were placed at the grave sites of St. Patrick High School and Archbishop Bergan Alumni at Calvary Cemetery. Letters were sent to the families of the deceased alumni buried at Calvary explaining the looks of the marker and asking for donations if they were interested in the project. Over $1400 was received, so the markers were ordered and placed at the grave sites in time for Memorial Day Services at the cemetery. All deceased alumni buried at Calvary will have a marker indicating they are a St. Patrick or a Bergan Alumnus with a flag attached indicating their year of graduation. We are hopeful that some families of future deceased alumni will commit their memorial intention to fund an endowment that will provide for the medallions in the future. The medallions will be presented to the family at the wake or funeral of the deceased alumni. A committee of volunteers will be formed to put out and gather in the medallions each year a couple of weeks before and a couple of weeks after Memorial Day. ANY DONATIONS TO HELP FUND THIS PROJECT WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. DONATIONS CAN BE MADE BY SENDING THEM TO THE PARISH OFFICE, ATTENTION GARY SCHMIDT, 422 E. 4TH STREET, FREMONT, NE 68025. Please indicate 'Alumni Medallion Fund'. Checks should be made payable to 'St. Patrick/Bergan Alumni'. Thank you to those who have contributed to the Alumni Medallion Project! Any family wishing a medallion for an alumnus buried outside of Calvary Cemetery may purchase one for $65 by contacting Gary Schmidt at the parish business office, 721-1846.
