Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) / Rito de Iniciación Cristiana para Adultos (RICA):

For persons interested in joining the Catholic Church and Catholics who have not completed the Celebration of the Sacraments of Initiation, after Baptism (Confirmation and/or Eucharist). This program also needs Catholics to act as companions and sponsors of candidates.

NOTE: Accommodation made for those with schedule conflicts. Sessions are on Sundays,during the 9:00 am Mass in the Brides Room. Contact: Parish Office at (402)721-6611.

Para las personas interesadas en integrarse a la Iglesia Católica y los católicos que aun no han celebrado sus Sacramentos de Iniciación, después del Bautizo (Confirmación/Eucaristía). Este programa también necesita católicos que actúen como compañeros y padrinos de los candidatos.

NOTA: Se pueden hacer acomodamientos para las personas con conflictos en su agenda. Las platicas (Ingles) son los Domingos, de 9:00 am-11:00am en el cuarto de novias de la Iglesia. Contacte a la oficina parroquial al (402) 721-6611.

Rite of Christian Initiation of Children (RCIC) /Rito de Iniciación Cristiana para Niños (RICN) :

For families of children, grades 3-8, who have not been baptized or celebrated first reception of Eucharist/Communion. One parent is expected to accompany children. This program also uses companion families to journey with those who are candidates.

Religious Formation:

Family Formation is a unique family catechesis program which promotes parents as the primary educators of their children in the Catholic Faith. Family Formation is a tried and true curriculum developed by regular parents with normal family lives. The materials are engaging, down-to-earth and easy to understand. Through games, quizzes, stories and music, solid Catholic teaching is transmitted, and the faith is brought to life within the family. Classes are held on the 3rd Wednesday of every month from 6:30 – 8:00 pm. Includes sacramental preparation for Reconciliation and Eucharist in second grade; and confirmation for grades 6-8.

Children’s Liturgy of the Word:

Takes place during the 11:00 am Mass. The Program is designed to involve children ages 3 to 5th grade. The children are called to the Altar, given a blessing and leave the Church. They are then separated into 3 groups, where they hear the readings from the Children Lectionary, have a homily discussion, and participate in the prayers of the faithful. They return to Mass at the time of the children’s collection. This is open to all children ages 3 to 5th grade. No pre-registration is necessary.

Life Teen:

Life Teen is an international Catholic movement that serves the Church by providing resources and faith experiences that help lead teens closer to Christ. This is accomplished through a vibrant Eucharistic spirituality and by creating opportunities for teens to grow in their faith. They will meet on Wednesdays from 6:30 - 8:00 pm in Delaney Hall. Edge is a Catholic middle school youth ministry experience created for early adolescents in grades 7 and 8 designed to meet the educational, spiritual, emotional, and social needs of young adolescents. It will meet every Wednesday from 6:30 - 8:00 pm at Delaney Hall. It is for all 7th and 8th grade students in Religious Formation and at Bergan and will be an integral part of their preparation for confirmation. It will be a youth group setting and wil replace the traditional classroom setting of Religious Formation.

Bible Study and Faith-Sharing Groups:

Small groups of people gather in homes to study various books of the Bible or to share on the Sunday readings or other themes. Sign-up for these groups is in the fall and before Lent.
