Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) / Rito de Iniciación Cristiana para Adultos (RICA):

For persons interested in joining the Catholic Church, Catholics who have not completed the Celebration of the Sacraments of Initiation, after Baptism (Confirmation and/or Eucharist) or Catholics wishing to study the faith more deeply.

Rite of Christian Initiation of Children (RCIC) /Rito de Iniciación Cristiana para Niños (RICN) :

RCIC is for families with children who are older than age seven and have not yet been baptized. RCIC is a monthly program held on Sunday (typically the last Sunday of the month). Parents along with their children attend these formation sessions to prepare the family for the child’s reception into the church.

Family Formation:

Family Formation (for families with children in grades K thru 6) provides a unique, challenging, and creative curriculum that is family-based, includes adult catechesis and training for parents, is founded on the Truth and teachings of the Catholic Church, and is designed to make living the Faith a way of life and a life-long learning adventure.
Family Formation at St. Patrick’s includes:
• Adult formation and grade specific classroom curriculum for monthly parish gatherings
• Weekly family home lessons, which enable parents to be the primary educators of their children in the Faith
• Sacramental preparation for families with children preparing to make their First Reconciliation and First Communion
Family Formation is held on the 1st Wednesday of the month from 6:30-8:00pm at Archbishop Bergan Elementary School.

Summer Bible School Program:

VBS is typically held the last full week in June. It is open to children in preschool through 5th grade. Many volunteers are needed to make VBS a success. Details on Vacation Bible School (including the annual theme and registration information) will be published in the Parish bulletin during the summer months.

Children’s Liturgy of the Word:

Children’s Liturgy of the Word (CLW) takes place during the 11:00 am Mass from September through May. CLW is for children 3 years old (preschool age) thru 5th grade. The children are called to the Altar, given a blessing and leave the Church. They are then separated into 2 groups (Preschool-1st Grades & 2nd-5th Grades), where they hear the readings from the Children’s Lectionary, have a homily discussion, and participate in a hands on activity to bring the gospel message to life. They return to Mass at the time of the children’s collection. No pre-registration is necessary is participate in CLW.

Life Teen:

Life Teen is a high school youth ministry experience leading teens closer to Christ. The group meets weekly on Wednesdays (with the exception of the first Wednesday of the month) from 6:30-8:00 pm at Church.

Edge is a middle school youth ministry experience created for early adolescents in grades 7 and 8. Edge is designed to meet the educational, spiritual, emotional, and social needs of young adolescents. Edge is an integral part of preparation for Confirmation. The group meets weekly on Wednesdays (with the exception of the first Wednesday of the month) from 6:30 - 8:00 pm at Church.

Bible Study and Faith-Sharing Groups:

Small groups of people gather in homes to study various books of the Bible or to share on the Sunday readings or other themes. Sign-up for these groups is in the fall and before Lent.
