Parish & School Development and Events Coordinator
EFFECTIVE DATE: February 16, 2026
POSITION STATUS: Salaried; Full-time $40,000-$50,000
Position Summary
The Development & Events Associate supports the mission of the parish and school by coordinating fundraising activities, donor stewardship efforts, and community-building events. This role works closely with the Development Director, parish leadership, school administration, and volunteers to ensure the successful planning, execution, and evaluation of development initiatives that strengthen the parish and school’s financial sustainability and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising & Development Support
- Assist in the planning and implementation of annual giving campaigns and special fundraising events.
- Maintain accurate donor records and acknowledgments in the development database.
- Research prospective donors, sponsors, foundations, and community partners.
- Prepare development materials, including newsletters, appeal letters, sponsorship packets, and impact updates.
Event Planning & Coordination
- Plan and execute parish and school events such as Parish Festival, giving days, Knight Event, stewardship weekends, and alumni gatherings..
- Manage event logistics, including venue setup, vendors, volunteers, registration, technology needs, and day‑of oversight.
- Secure event sponsorships and donations by cultivating relationships with businesses, parishioners, and community partners.
- Track event budgets, evaluate event performance, and recommend improvements.
Administrative & Collaborative Duties
- Work with the Development Director as a liaison for development committees, event volunteers, and parish/school leadership.
- Maintain organized development files, calendars, and project timelines.
- Provide administrative support to the Development Director/Administrator as needed.
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in communications, nonprofit management, marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience in fundraising, events, hospitality, marketing, or nonprofit administration preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff, clergy, volunteers, and parish families.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with donor database software preferred.
- Understanding of and commitment to the mission and teachings of the Catholic Church; active parish participation is preferred.
Work Environment & Schedule
- Primarily on‑site role with weekend and evening hours required for events and parish activities.
- Ability to lift event materials (up to 25–30 lbs) and assist with physical setup tasks.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with staff, clergy, parishioners, and volunteers.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Understanding of Catholic theology, parish life, and evangelization principles; active participation in the Catholic Church preferred.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise good judgment, and navigate sensitive situations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with HRIS or parish management systems is a plus.
